The success of the Printy lies in its simplicity, yet despite competitors' attempts to replicate its ingenious design the Trodat Printy remains unique in today's marking industry.

Over 30 years ago, the founder of the Trodat company, Walter Just, was on a quest to find out how the legendary "Vienna pocket stamp tin" could be redesigned into a self-inking stamping device. In 1976, the initial production lot was run for the first ever self-inking, plastic stamp - the Trodat Printy, with an integrated ink pad.

The latest Printy, unveiled at Paperworld 2003, is the 3rd generation of the model and almost instantly became a bestseller.

In 2008 Trodat launched its brand new Mobile Printy - a unique pocket stamp that carries on the Printy tradition of innovation in product development. Indeed, the Mobile Printy was voted Product of the Year at Paperworld 2009.
